Amman, 1 November 2017: Representing Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdallah, Chairperson of the Jordan Museum Board of Trustees, Princess Sumaya bint El-Hassan President of the Royal Scientific Society and Vice-Chair of The Jordan Museum launched today the ‘1001 Inventions: Discovering Our Past… Inspiring Our Future’ Exhibition. The exhibition is a an anchor attraction of a year-long series of activities celebrating The Jordan Year of Science 2017.
The award-winning 1001 Inventions exhibition aims to create awareness amongst youth about the rich legacy of creativity and innovation in Muslim civilization aiming to inspire them to build a better future. It is a celebration of a thousand year period from the 7th century when pioneering scholars and scientists built and improved upon ideas of earlier worldwide scholars and made advanaces that helped pave the way for the European Renaissance.
A highly engaging educational and family friendly experience, the Exhibition is being staged as part of a year-long celebration of science and the heritage of innovation organised by the Royal Scientific Society, aims to place science, technology and inventiveness at the heart of discussions on the future growth of Jordan.
HRH Princess Sumaya said:

Science belongs to all of us and through science we may learn to change our world for the better and build a future of opportunity and hope.

For the Jordan Museum celebrates the innovative capacity of hundreds of generations of our ancestors. We must be inspired to emulate them by opening our minds and engaging our creative imaginations”.

Carefully designed as a fun and enlightening experience, the exhibition offers audiences of all ages a highly interactive and educational engagement with the past. It includes captivating short films, interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, workshops and digital games.
The 1001 Inventions Exhibition welcomes visitors to The Jordan Museum from 2nd November 2017.
Exhibition Opening Hours
The Exhibition will be open to the public daily – except Tuesdays – from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

AMMAN — As part of Jordan’s Year of Science 2017 (JYS), more than 24,000 pupils from public and private schools across the Kingdom visited the Ibn Al Haytham Exhibition, held at Ras Al Ain’s Jordan Museum last month, museum officials said. The exhibition, inaugurated by Education Minister Omar Razzaz in the presence of HRH Princess Sumaya, was organised by the Royal Scientific Society, the Jordan Museum, and 1001 Inventions.
