Minister Visits 1001 Inventions Exhibition at Gassim Science Center

The visit is part of the Minister’s efforts to inspire young people to pursue science careers

Unaizah, 21 March 2023: The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, His Excellency Engineer Abdullah Alswaha, visited today Al-Qassim Science Center.

The visit is part of the Minister’s ongoing efforts to prepare the next generation of leaders in science and space through creative enrichment programmes. Also to empower youth and provide them with the necessary Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills towards achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

During his visit, the Minister toured the 1001 Inventions uniquely designed science exhibition, an anchor attraction at the Gassim Science Center. HE commended the efforts to promote cultural heritage to creatively inspire future generations of innovators. He noted that the exhibits offer valuable insights into Muslim civilisation’s scientific, technological, and cultural advancements, which continue to shape our world today.

The 1001 Inventions exhibition boasts interactive zones highlighting the multi-disciplinary achievements of pioneers from the golden age of Muslim civilisation. The aim is to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, space exploration and related fields. Also, to demonstrate the importance of education and research in advancing human knowledge.

With the Kingdom’s focus on empowering its youth, the visit of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to the Gassim Science Center serves as a reminder of the government’s commitment to build on the legacy of the region’s past and continue to invest in science and technology to meet the challenges of our time.
