Sinema dünyasının Oskar ödüllü efsanevi aktorü Sir Ben Kingsley, Müslüman uygarlığın bilimsel mirası üzerine çekilmiş kısa metrajlı bir filmin başrol oyuncusu. “1001 Buluş ve Sırlar Kütüphanesi” isimli mini-film, daha önce Londra’daki Bilim Muzesi’nde halkın ziyaretine açılmış olan dünya çapında gezen bir sergiye eşlik ediyor. 1001 Buluş sergisi, Haziran 2010’da Londra Bilim Muzesi’nde ağırladığı 400bin ve tarihi İstanbul Sultanahmet Meydanı’nda ağırladığı 390bin ziyaretçisiyle kapalı gişe rekorları kıran konaklama süresini tamamlamış oldu. Nisan, 2011 yılına kadar New York Hall of Science bilim müzesinden sonra sergi Kalifornia Bilim Merkezinde 27 Mayıs ayından itaberen 31 Aralık 2011'e kadar devam edecek.
Sir Ben Kingsley filmde, bir grup okul oğrencisini Müslüman uygarlığının önde gelen bilim adamlarını ve mühendislerini tanıtmak için aydınlatıcı bir yolculuğa çıkaran gizemli bir kütüphaneci rolünde. Kütüphanecinin, daha sonra 12.yüzyılın mühendislik dehası el-Cezir olduğunu izleyip, diğer alimlerle de tanışacaksınız.
