Visitor Information

The New York Hall of Science occupies one of the few remaining structures of the 1964 New York World's Fair in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in the borough of Queens in New York City. Today, it stands as New York City's only hands-on science and technology center. The more than 450 hands-on exhibits explore biology, chemistry and physics.

Museum Accessibility

NYSCI welcomes all visitors and strives to accommodate visitors of all abilities.

Entrance/Galleries
NYSCI is wheelchair accessible. The entrance has no exterior or interior steps. All exhibition galleries, the auditorium, restrooms, the Café and Science Shop are wheelchair accessible.

Exhibits
All of the NYSCI's exhibits are hands-on and incorporate visual, tactile and auditory components.

Audio Tours
Pre-recorded voice messages that explain selected exhibits in detail are available at no charge for visitors with vision impairment or dyslexia. In addition, exhibit information may be obtained in Braille format.

Programs
NYSCI provides fun, educational learning experiences for visitors of all ages. Our programs are designed by experienced educators trained to work with both children and adults.

Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are located on the street level. Restrooms are equipped with diaper changing stations.

Service Animals
Appropriately documented guide dogs and animals for assisted therapy are welcome at the NYSCI.

First Aid
Visitor Services or Security staff are available to assist with First Aid.

Free Admission

Enjoy free general admission, September through June, on Fridays, 2 – 5 pm; Sundays, 10 – 11 am. Free hours are suspended in July and August. Members enjoy free admission to NYSCI all year long. NYSCI honors members of institutions participating in the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) Passport program (benefit 2 adults/4 children) with photo ID and proof of home address within 90 miles of host museum.

Strollers/Coats

Strollers are permitted. For your convenience, coats may be checked at our coat check area for a fee of $1.00 per item. A limited number of wheelchairs are available.

From Long Island
From Northern Long Island and Northeastern Queens
Long Island Expressway (LIE) westbound, or Grand Central Parkway westbound to LIE westbound. Exit the LIE at 108th Street. Right on 108th Street. Right on 52nd Avenue to 111th Street. Left on 111th Street. Right at 49th Avenue into the New York Hall of Science entrance drive.

From Southern Long Island and Southern Queens
Southern State Parkway westbound to Belt Parkway westbound. Belt Parkway to Exit 19 (Van Wyck Expressway/I-678 North). Take the Van Wyck north and merge onto the Grand Central Parkway west at Exit 10 - on the left - toward La Guardia Airport/Triboro Bridge. Continue on the Grand Central to Long Island Expressway westbound. Follow directions, From Northern Long Island and Eastern Queens.

From Manhattan/Midtown Tunnel
Long Island Expressway eastbound, staying in the right-hand lanes. Exit at 108th Street. Left on 108th Street. Right on 52nd Avenue to 111th Street. Left on 111th Street. Right at 49th Avenue into the New York Hall of Science entrance drive.

From Bronx/Westchester
Cross the Whitestone Bridge, bearing right at the end onto the Whitestone Expressway. Exit onto Grand Central Parkway eastbound. Take exit 10, bearing right to follow the Midtown Tunnel signage. Right on Corona Avenue. Right on 111th Street. Right at 49th Avenue into the New York Hall of Science entrance drive.

From Brooklyn
Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to Long Island Expressway eastbound. Stay in the right-hand lanes and exit at 108th Street. Left on 108th Street. Right on 52nd Avenue to 111th Street. Left on 111th Street. Right on 49th Avenue into the New York Hall of Science entrance drive.

From Triborough Bridge
Grand Central Parkway eastbound to Exit 10, bearing right to follow the Midtown Tunnel signage. Right on Corona Avenue. Right on 111th Street. Right at 49th Avenue into the New York Hall of Science entrance drive.

Parking

Please Note: During New York Mets home games, the parking fee is $14 for cars. For the current schedule, please visit www.mets.com.

Parking is available in NYSCI’s private lot (except during the U.S. Open tennis championships and during World Maker Faire). There is a $10 parking fee for cars; $20 for buses on weekends, holidays and weekdays in the summer. Parking is free to members and reserved groups, as well as to schools and camp groups arriving by bus.
